Location: East Mound. South slope
An area on the southern slope of the East mound was explored by shovel scraping in 2000 called the SP Area. The objective was to investigate a large rectilinear feature possibly of Neolithic period identified on the gradiometer survey conducted in 1995 The investigations in 2000 were conducted to identify a possible location for excavation by Team Poznan (TP) due to join the project in 2001. The exploratory exercise however, revealed remains of the Classical period. The area was thus recorded and backfilled.
