Mud brick - pillar against southern wall F.2216 and has been engaged to the wall by plastering. This free standing column most likely had a decorative function rather than structural. Two other pillar scars in the building 60 both demonstrate different building techniques, however, appear to be in the same phase. All corelate with pillar scars in the building below and may have been an attempt to immitate an earlier style without knowledge of function. |
