This is the smallest and earliest of three ovens in Space 519, which could be a part of post-Neolithic activity area. It was truncated by the oven 3955 from the north. Only the bottom N part of the infill (u.30834) and a small NE part of the wall (u.30812) preserved. The remaining part was chopped off by unspecified huge truncation that destroyed a large part of trench 2 (30723) from the south and east.
The wall was quite thin. It was made of inner plastered brick layer. Two fragments of pottery were found in the oven wall. The infill was composed of two kind of soft silty clay. No base of the oven was found. |
