Discussion: A cylindrical formation of burned material coming out of the E wall/floor and curving up into the S wall.
Contains areas of orange burning and ashy deposits. Also has some remaining plaster.

Hearth associated deposits contaminated by animal burrow 

 

Recognition: It juts out from the walls and up from the floor 

Definition: It is much harder than the surrounding fill 

Execution: Trowel 

Condition: Cold cloudy with a light wind 

Consistency: Soft friable 

Colour: bright orange. Ashy black. Dirty white plaster 

Texture: sandy clay 

Bedding: layered ashy fill and orange clay 

Inclusions: 40% orange clay 

Post-depositional Features: rodent holes 

Basal Boundary: clear wavy anthropic boundary
