Unit description: Unit comes entirely from flotation sample 1, >4mm (100% sorted and recorded). It is a small unit, consisting mainly of scrap. There are cattle and sheep-sized long bone frags, only sheep sized ribs and verts, and the few diagnostics are also sheep-sized (a few carpal and tarsal bones). A few pieces are digested, none gnawed, about 5% is burnt (low temps, charred or browned). Pieces are mainly small (1 or 2 cms) but there are also a lot of fresh breaks, particularly on the cattle-sized long bone frags, suggesting that they may mostly derive from a few pieces. in general, the material seems mixed, from varied sources, slightly battered and rolled, not in fresh condition. Last record = F27.
