Data Category Information: Description: pit
Discussion: It is a cut of a large burial pit in S edge of the extension. There were 2 layers within this cut - these were units 7845 (upper layer) and 8937 (lower one).
The cut 10908 cut a burial - which was also (in its W part) destroyed by Mellaart's trenches . - destroying its lower part. This skeleton was registered as unit 8989 and buried within layer 7820 (without a cut). Within layer 8937 a single femur (unit 8988) was found which might have belonged to the same individual.
In the base of the cut 10908 another pit - burial one - was dug. It was excavated as units: 10936 (infill), 10937 (skeleton), 10938 (cut) and 8917 - a grave marker built of diagonally placed mudbricks and placed in the base of cut 10908 next to (not just above but on its N side) the cut 10938.
