Unit 10940
Category: layer dug in 2004
Area: TP
Interpretive Categories: grave pit infill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial; Deposition: homogeneous; Basal Spit: basal deposit
Dimensions: 1.4 x 0.4(?) x 0,21
Discussion: It is an infill of the burial pit which was situated partly outside the excavated area - over the S section of the extension. The burial was partly destroyed by falling down of the section however it is still visible that the skeleton - unit 10941 - which was not damaged - is surrounded (from W side, S side and partly of N side) by wall - unit 10946, which was dug into a burial cut - unit 10942.
The consistency of the infill was friable in upper part which was probably caused by the fact that the burial was formed not deep from the ground surface. At the bottom of the pit the infill was looser and lighter in colour than its basal boundary which was clearly visible.
Recognition: shape, colour, appearance of the skeleton - 10941
