Description: FAST TRACK

Discussion: This unit began to be excavated by Shanti, Ruth, Lizzy, but was completed by the human remains excavation team, once the skeleton began to be revealed at +/- 8 cm below the surface of the cut. The grave fill was mostly a grey-brown friable soild but it was interspersed with patches of more compact soil of differing colors. The grave fill was not very deep relative to the graves exposed this season east of it. There were several inclusions in the fill, including animal bones and some pottery. The soil became much looser nearer the skeleton. Animal and root disturbance was significant in the eastern 1/2 of the unit. Coffin wood outlined the grave and defined the outer limits of the fill.
