Discussion:
Continue to remove fill of feature 1751 N. half. Finish at 0.76 m from surface. Clayey level appearing. May be base. Filled with gravelly material. Some large pieces of burned clay, some still left against outer wall (for safety). Walls are very undercut, very compact matrix toward base, especially in E. half. Material at lower 15 cm of unit very compact and clayey.

Recognition: Continuation of pit feature 1751 revealed at higher levels (11006, 11008)-- sediment is distinctive from surrounding fill
Definition: Surrounded by sediments of different color, density, and inclusions
Execution: Use of trowel and hoe to remove significant portions; some brushing for better definition
Condition: Some dampness due to rainshowers of 16/7/04
Consistency: Friable to firm
Colour: Reddish beige-- mottled
Texture: Clayey loam
Bedding: Layered, discontinuous bedding (unit is mottled)
Inclusions: Mud brick, bone, charcoal, ash
Post-depositional Features: Some bioturbation due to small root systems and animal burrowing; compaction
Basal Boundary: Very compact, clayey material
