Discussion: This unit was removing fill of post-neolithic pit from top to bottom. It was filled throughout with huge pieces of burned clay, some vitrified. Looks more like kiln material than wall.

Recognition: Continuation of pit feature 1751 revealed in N levels (11006, 11008)-- sediment is distinctive from surrounding fill
Definition: Surrounded by sediments of different color, density, and inclusions
Execution: Use of trowel and hoe to remove significant portions; some brushing for better definition
Condition: Some dampness due to rainshowers of 16/7/04
Consistency: Friable to firm
Colour: Reddish beige-- mottled
Texture: Clayey loam
Bedding: Layered, discontinuous bedding (unit is mottled)
Inclusions: Mud brick, bone, charcoal, ash
Post-depositional Features: Some bioturbation due to small root systems and animal burrowing; compaction
Basal Boundary: Very compact, clayey material
