Unit 1120
Category: layer dug in 1995
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: clay over FI
Data Category Information: In Situ: non in-situ; Location: feature; Description: oven; Material: pise-like; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: Backfill of FI once it had gone out of use, containing much decayed structural material, plaster and (especially) burnt orange brick, including some large fragments of each: scrappy brick by north section and plaster lump removed as sample 26. The remains of a small fragment of surface of the mud-brick suggests it may be part of the superstructure of the FI, whereas the plaster looks more like wall plaster.
