Unit 11281

Category: Cut    dug in 2004

Area: South

Interpretive Categories: void left by object?

Data Category Information: Description: scoop

Discussion: looks like a void in layer 11283 where something was resting on the surface below and plastered around, then later removed. When excavated 11238 it became clear tha5t depression was not resting on floor below, but contained within the layer - maybe something pressed into floor layer 11283 while it was wet? Or layer partially put down, then more of the same material put down as part of that layer around something then resting on what was already down there…?

Recognition: by colour, and abcence of layer 11203 in a set, geometric area with a very dark grey boarder

Shape: rectangular

Sides: steep, but almost non-existent
