Discussion: It is a cut of a pit situated in southern part of an extension. The pit is very shallow so it is possible that is was present (but overlooked) earlier (heigher). The pit was cut by a Bizantine grave (feature 1173), undercutting southern section of the trench. 

 

Recognition: colour, consistency 

Definition: a cut of a large pit in southern esge of the extension 

Execution: trowel 

Condition: warm 

Shape: circular, ovoid 

Sides: irregular - vertical in east, partly stepped in north 

Base Break: gradual 

Base: flat (in southern part), uneven (in northern part), sloping in east
