Discussion: This is second layer in a sequence of layers in southern part of an extension below southern part of a make-up layer (12234 below wall 10982). The first layer in this sequence was excavated as unit 12254.
It was a rubble layer in which possibly two layers could have been distinguished, the upper of which was more colourful. The lowest differed from 1017.23 (southern part) to 1017.18 (in northern part) so the heights ranged from 0.11 (south) to 0.16 (north) m.
