Unit 12277

Category: Layer    dug in 2006

Area: TP

Interpretive Categories: midden

Data Category Information: Location: external; Deposition: coarsely bedded (dumps)

Dimensions: 1,60 x 1,60 x 0,18

Discussion: This is a layer composed of a large number of constructional elements including fragments of mortar, broken mudbricks, painted plaster, clay, etc. There are no strations that may indicate slow and continuous deposition. Instead it appears as if the layer was deposited as a result of short episde, probably associated with the abandonment of Building 61 placed directly to the W. The layer is placed exactly between the bottom of wall recorded as unit 11792 from the W and the bottom of wall 12274 from the E. Stratigraphy of this section of the trench indicates that unit 12277 is younger than both walls and hence it can be dated to post I phase.
