Unit 12515
Category: Cut dug in 2006
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: grave cut
Data Category Information: Description: burial
Dimensions: 0.3 m N/X x 0.57 E/W x 0.14 m
Discussion: Fairly well defined cut, especially on N side where edge is steep. S side gentle slope, SE part truncated by (12505) grave. Bone pin, two beads suggest pit may have been a recovered cache of personal items.
13/08/06 Smc; Removal of (14314) in area revealed human mandible and clavicle in dep not to be excavated till next season. They are below (12513) and [12515] and potentiallly belong to this feature, ie it hasn't been fully excavated, and the remains, if found to belong to a grave could well have been cut from a higer level (pos through (12541)) than exists at present.
Reading Simon's notes from the end of the 2006 season - he felt that the bones (14805) and the cut (14806) were from a pit that had not been bottomed (12515), I have therefore equated the fill that was left - 14804 with the 2006 pit fill 12513, and equated cut 12515 with 14806. FS 7/7/09
