Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: floor (packing only); Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: The lower unit of the southern¬most bin along the west wall of space 276. The unit consisted of a series of alternating layers of reddish mudbrick type material and plaster lens which were a sequence of make¬up layers and corresponding plaster surfces forming the base of the bin. The plaster lens varied between about 1mm to 2cm thick, the surfaces tended to be thinner rather than thick and I fiound that when I tried to follow some of these suraces with the trowel it was very easy just to trowel them away.
Recognition: recognised during excavation of unit above (12916). Distinct in colour and degree of compaction.
