Discussion: The plaster was easiest to remove on the Eastern and middle area of the wall. In the western area, the corner, the plaster was much more difficult to remove. The plaster was thinnest on the western side of the wall where it was best bonded and difficult to remove. It was thickest in the middle. 

 

Recognition: Thick white crust that easily pells off mudbrick wall 

Definition: Very clear 

Execution: Trowel 

Condition: warm, still 

Consistency: dusty surface, compact and hard 

Colour: off-white 

Texture: marl plaster 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: none 

Post-depositional Features: some animal disturbance, some cracking (persumably from exposure to sun and heat) and the well-defined post retrieval pits 

Basal Boundary: clear on all boundaries where plaster .. (or missing)
