Unit 1488
Category: layer dug in 1996
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: floor layer,platform floors
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: raised area (platform); Material: white clay; Deposition: multiple
Discussion: 96: white floors in central area of platform 13
97: After removal of [1487] - the orange packing - the unit was changed, and the next unit [1488] refers to the removal of the white floor layers. This was easily accomplished on the east side of the platform, also possibly revealing that burial [36] was within a plaster-lined pit. On the West side, clear removal of the white floors was more problematic. Here we stopped to remove some of the abutting wall plaster in the hope that this would create a clearer picture of the floor layers.
The Unit number was changed to investigate the plaster-lined pit.
