Dimensions: c.0.60m N-S x upto 0.60m E-W x c.30-50mm Deep
Discussion: -Residual ash-rich material against wall of oven - may have been a floor, but almost nothing left - more likely to have been make-up.
-Almost entirely scoured out, probably during a remodelling event.
-May also have simply been remains of ashy build-up in oven, scoured by raking out.
Recognition: Colour, texture.
Definition: clear Against oven walls.
Execution: Trowel.
Condition: Dry.
Consistency: Loose, crumbly.
Colour: Mid grey brown.
Texture: Very ashy silt.
Bedding: Massive.
Inclusions: V. Occa. Charcoal Flecks.
Post-depositional Features: Residual Deposit, against wall of oven, possibly scoured out during remodelling of oven. Clearly heat affected (based upon colouration).
Basal Boundary: Fairly clear.
