Discussion: Packing/makeup below (16523)- for all intents and purposes identical to (16523) except for the cluster of debitage (16536)

May serve as consolidation for a floor which was truncated higher up, or, as a surface in its own right. (Depending on distribution analysis of debitage (16536).

Recognition: fills room, less debitage than the layer above (16523) 

Definition: Walls on 3 sides truncated on west boundary with layer above not very clear. 

Execution: troweled 

Condition: dry 

Consistency: firm-compact 

Colour: pale- mid yellowish brown 

Texture: very sandy silt 

Bedding: compound, irregular, with patches of brick like sandy material 

Inclusions: very occasional charcoal flects, occasional concentration of plaster flecks and very small frags. 

Post-depositional Features: truncated by erosion of mound/ and Melaart on NW sides, animal burrows 

Basal Boundary: fairly clear anthropic, with earlier surface. S. half slopes down towards S. wall.
