Discussion: This represents a relatively clean basal fill of cut [1672].Originally underdug because it was overlain by flecks of weathered soil & underdug pit cut [1080] excavated in the 1st week of excavation.

Consistency: slightly loose 

Colour: 10YR between 5/4 yellowish brown and 4/4 dark yellow brown. 

Texture: clayish soil (clay) 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: charcoal 5% (1cm<), phytoliths 5% (1cm<), brown clay fragments 5% (1cm<), plaster 5% (1cm<) 

Post-depositional Features: none 

Basal Boundary: gradual irregular sedimentological boundary
