Unit 16860
Category: Layer dug in 2008
Area: Trench 5
Interpretive Categories: room fill
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: South-facing section of F.2419 is a cross-section of room fill. There appear to be slumps of material at the E end of the section but the material towards the top of the section appears to contain finer material, and fewer conglomerations.
East-facing section shows cross-section of wall F.2426 where the mudbricks and mortar are clearly defined. This is divided from wall F.5051 by a small ca. 15cm gap. F.5051 is of very friable medium grey silty material, and the mortar and white an very clearly defined.
No samples taken as same as 16896. Former x1 moved to 16889.
JMR 17.2.2010: Sketch on unit sheet shows that 16860 is part of room fill 16896 in space 342 and seems to be a strip of this room fill left on the Northern end of the room fill, maybe in order to produce a section?
