Unit 1799
Category: layer dug in 1997
Area: South
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: pit
Dimensions: 1.00m NS x 1.40m EW
Discussion: Following 1775 which had revealed a line of plaster, 1799 was taken in this area. A plaster basin (F134) was uncovered. The basin abutted the platform (f120) as well as a northern platform which is not yet clearly defined. The face of the basin is carefully covered with plaster which continues the plaster of floor 117, so these two features seem to be contemporaneous.
Although the assumed north platform is not yet clearly defined, the part of platform 120 revealed by 1789 to the east, shows a surface of plaster which is smeared against a vertical face. This should be the face of the assumed north platform.
