Discussion: DLG 12.8. 2012: This unit represents the mudbrick layers of the western wall of B.107 (F.3344). The bricks are light grey in color with tiny bits of charcoal and lime inclusions alomg with small fragments of pottery, bone, obsidian and shell. They are firm and compact but do not seem to be of a uniform size and sometimes the size of the bricks is often adapted to spatial needs.

CMP 5.8. 2013: The mudbrick wall U.18359 was recognised by stratigraphy. In the profile's wall it is clearly distinctable from surounding fill and other deposits. The U.18359 is a manmade wall construction which belongs to B.107 in Trench 5. They stacked mudbricks on top of each other and put layers of mortar between bricks. Sometimes, there is no mortar between them. This mudbrick wall U.18359 abuts the buttress F.3356.

As for inclusions, it had many little inclusions of charcoal and yellow clay, and a small amount of pottery, obsidian and animal bones. In the section of the wall we can see shocky lime stone inclusions. West of the wall is a fill which included bigger sherds of painted pottery. In a freshly uncovered state, the mudbrick U.18359 is brown-red. After drying out the color changes to grey.

Recognition: change in color consistency from the surrounding areas and mortar

Definition: clear

Execution: big pick, small pick, trowel, brush, dustpan

Condition: pleasant, under shelter

Consistency: compact silty sand material - compact clay mudbrick, the mortar in between is loose and fragile with compact clumps of mortar

Colour: light grey - grey mudbrick, dark brown mortar clumps; mudbrick freshly uncovered brownish

Texture: silty sand - silty clay/ silt ?

Bedding: massive - layers of mudbrick with mortar in between them, homogeneous

Inclusions: pottery, animal bones, stone, groundstone, obsidian, charcoal, shell, lime - blash ash, charcoal and yellowish clay inclusions, very few pieces of bone, pottery and obsidian

Post-depositional Features: animal burrows, plant roots - possible animal burrow

Basal Boundary: arbitrary, base of wall not excavated - sharp, rectangular, depending on the specific layer also molded by erosion or cuts from other archaeological contexts e.g. burials in the wall F.3344 of building 107
