Discussion: Grave fill for sk (18496) in northern part of NE platform (f 3400). The grave cut was clear in the eastern part of the grave pit where the fire in the building was lsess intense and the floor was still preserved. The soil in this eastern part of the platform was more compact and lighter in color relative to the western grave fill. The grave cut was less clear in the west where the floor had been burned. The soil in the west was dark borwn, loose and friable due to the intensity of the fire here. Even so, most of this grave was spared the highest heat from the fire as evidenced from the grave fill and from the skeleton whose skull, mandible and upper cervical vertebrae which were placed in the west were balckened while the rest of the skeleton was baked at lower temperatures and not blackened. The grave fill volume was relatively high since the skeleton was found low in the grave cut, with the exception of the feet in the northern section of the pit and the right proximal femur in the southeast. A flint tool (x1) was found near the feet.
