Unit 19498
Category: Layer dug in 2012
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Burial fill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: This was a false botton of a late grave, made of greyish mudbrick immediately bellow 19483.
This unit consisted of a dark greyish brown clay loam which was very compact. An obsidian point (complete and unbroken) was found on the surface, right above the chest of the skeleton (20426). Although it is a later burial (evidenced by one iron nail and late pottetry) the point seems to have been deliberately placed.
This fill was not all sent to flotation as it was extremely large in quantity.
