Description: Same as 1485 excavated in 1996 

Discussion: This unit comprises the remaining part of the second layer of the NW platform and so if will be the same as the units of this platform layer removed last year [1485]. This unit is being removed to hopefully reveal earlier burial cuts beneath.

Changed unit numbers after the white floor layers had been removed, and the orange packing [1487] was revealed. 

Execution: trowel 

Condition: hot & windy 

Consistency: Weak-firm: crumbles under pressure 

Colour: 7.5 YR 8/1 White 

Texture: sandy loam 

Bedding: layered: fine white layers with orange packing layers between. 

Inclusions: very few inclusions - a little charcoal and salts 

Post-depositional Features: few roots, salt (2 years exposure) 

Basal Boundary: flat, level, visible, sloping slightly towards NW
