Category: Layer dug in 2016
Area: TP
Interpretive Categories: make-up,plaster
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: occupation; Deposition: single
Discussion: This is an earth-beaten and clayish floor within what seems to be main room Sp.436 of building B.74. It is same as platform F.2892 situated in the north-east corner of the building. Both of these features were associated with nothern wall F.3577 of B.74 and were constructed on a make-up layer that sealed nothern foundation F.3576 of that building. At the time of TP excavation (2007) the floor was only register in the nothern section and, as a consequence, no archive and flotation samples were taken and no individual unit number was assigned to it (part of unit 13532 was arbitrary associated with the floor in post-excavation study season). In 2016 this section was cleaned and a part of the floor and platform was excavated in the course of GDN research. The occupation surface of these features was very thin, however covered by a very distinct phytholith layer. Additionally, there was an aurochs mandible (977.69, 993.92, 1016.36) found just underneath the platform (excavated within the same unit number as the floor). It seems that these faunal remains may be interpreted as a foundation deposit.
