Unit 19874
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: fill pit
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: pit
Discussion: This unit is recognized by a reddish brown color and by its circular shape. The unit is silty clay and inside there are not inclusions except some tiny fragments of plaster. The layer, located in the north-east corner of the excavation area, is damaged by an animal burrow: the layer is very thick and the basal boundary is sharp. Probably its interpretation is related to a circular cut, that cuts another ovoid cut, that cuts another ovoid cut.
This unit was excavated by trowel and leaf-trowel.
28/07/13 While we were removing the unit 19897 we found a skeleton (primary burial U 30990) that filled the same cut (U19880) that this unit (U 19874) fills, so we understood that unit is a burial fill.
