Data Category Information: Location: between walls

 

Dimensions: 3,0 x 0,05 x 0,50 

 

Discussion: This is an inter- wall infill accumulated between F.7050 and F.445. The wall is F.445 aligned to shrine 8 and the wall 7050 is aligned to space 470. It seems that its accumulation was related with erection of the later one (F.7050). These two parallel walls oriented E-W preserved partially due to long exposure since 1960s and a high degree of erosion. The infill consisted of fragments of mortar and ash. In section the narrow space restricted by the mentioned walls appeared to be triangular in shape (see sketch in the unit sheet).

Consistency: loose with occasional orange clay from mortar 

Colour: mid-grey 

Texture: silty sand
