Area: South
Interpretive Categories: mortar
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: building; Material: mortar; Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: 0,88 x 0,22 x 0,56 m
Discussion: Associated with bricks U.20210.
During the execution of the wall F. 7053 (in 2012) it was possible to record 4 courses of the mortar that varied in their heights. The height of the courses varied between 3 and 8 cm (from the top: I-3cm; II-7cm; III-8cm; IV-4cm). Taking into consideration the above presented wide range of changeable dimensions, the thicker layer of mortar might sometimes have been placed in the wall instead of a brick, in order to maintain a horizontal line of the course; or to fasten bricks stronger.
