Unit 20643
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: 4th course of burnt layer
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: oven; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: In N part of the layer makeup below was strongly burnt so it disappeared. In this part I couldn't see the makeup layer and I make the boundary arbitraly. But in the rest of the layer, the next layer of makeup was more or less clearly visible. In this part of the oven it was very hard to distinguish where the layers were. So during excavation I destroyed a very thin layer of makeup in the central part of oven, but in the rest part it's well preserved.
This was another burnt layer in the oven F.7101. It is the second burnt layer in this oven when you look from the base. It was relatively thin so I suppose that wasuised for short period of time. When you look at all layers of the oven it's interesting that they didn't want to build a well constructed oven (see feature discussion). So maybe they used it temporarily or they didn't have an oportunity to do this.
