Unit 20653
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Plaster
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: plaster; Deposition: layered (wall plaster)
Discussion: This layer of plaster was constructed after the posthole (F. 2172) cut was made. When this unit was removed in 2013, it was highly eroded and very fragmentary since it had been partially exposed since the original excavation of Building 52 in 2005. The unit was further damaged during the removal of the bucranium (U.11963 of niche f.2175) adjacent to the posthole. Thus, no accurate coordinates/plan could be made, since most of the plaster covering the posthole collapsed. The remaining parts of this unit were sampled and then removed.
