Unit 20810
Category: Skeleton dug in 2013
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Neolithic,Primary
Data Category Information: none
Description: DNA-sample was collected by the human remains team.
Discussion: The body was extremely flexed and the cut very tight for it. The toes and cranium were severely flexed against the walls of the burial cut. The skeleton looked fairly well preserved when first excavated, but as it was lifted it fell to small pieces.
Phytolites were collected as sample under the back of the head and between the head and the western wall of the cut.
An obsidian flake was found lying horisontally in the fill u.20809 in front of the forehead. This and the early on showing juvenile skull were registered as x-finds for u.20809.
Pieces of crania and other bones of two more individuals (1 juvenile + 1 adult) were visible in the bottom of the cut. The juvenile crania was visible even before most of the sk.20810 (only the edge of the right hip bone) was visible.
The skeleton is shown on daily sketches between 20130708 - 20130711.
For drawn sketch, see the sheet of u. 20809.

Other comments: Very fragile and friable. The right hip bone was exposed for many days, as it was protruding through many layers above the basal diposit fill. Days exposed, remark: 10 days: the edge of right hip bone, or 7 days: larger parts of the skeleton while being excavated and lifted.
