Discussion: The unit is a layer of makeup, less than 1 mm in places, which is underneath u.20826 (and u.20822 in parts). It continues evenly across the whole platform up to the band of makeup that travels along the western edge of the platform. That makeup (u.20838) is distinguishable as a different layer from the current one because it is is beneath a separate layer of plaster (u.20833) that covers the platform sides.

Colour: light brown 

Texture: silt 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: coal <2% 

Post-depositional Features: trampling 

Basal Boundary: sharp, clearly distinguishable from plaster underneath
