Unit 20989
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: burial fill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial
Discussion: Burial fill that contains skeleton u.20685. This skeleton was partially exposed during 2011 and left in situ until 2013 - A foot and humeus and part of the cranium were already exposed. The fill was also partially removed at this time. The fill itself is a typical burial infill with small specs of charcoal and plaster and quite a bit of phytolith. The fill contained a number of "special" finds such as stone beads, shell beads, obsidian etc. Some parts of the basal boundary contained an orangish material which might correlate with a rich organic contect - possibly left over body tissue.
No plan - see cut.
Note that the dentillium beads were wrapped around a wrist that cut into the platform which very well could be the wrist of skeleton 20685.
