Discussion: This unit is made up of a number of different elements: sandy clay around the hearth F.7345, charcoal and ashes in its middle part and clayish sediment and mortar fragments towards the W. One ashy spread measuring ca. 50x30cm and located next to the "step" F.7567 has been excavated as part of the deposit.

This unit abutts the edge of cut U.21163 and therefore postdates it. 

Consistency: Friable 

Colour: Brown, grey 

Texture: Silty clay to sandy clay 

Bedding: Compound layered 

Inclusions: Fragments of mortar and alluvial clays, microcharcoal, calcitic ashes 

Post-depositional Features: Gypsum reprecipitation, bioturbation 

Basal Boundary: Anthropogenic, gradual, faint, smooth, flat
