Unit 21368
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Clean grey plaster floors
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: mix (dark grey&white); Deposition: composite (floors/bedding/plaster/packing/occupation); Basal Spit: unpainted
Discussion: Stratigraphical sequence comprising three plaster floors (two grey and one white), with their respective orangish-brown make-up. The grey floors represent 1-2mm thickness of finishing coat. The sequence slopes towards the S of the building at approximately 20-25º. The sequence contained only very few finds (obsidian microdébitage and shell fragments), indicating that these floors were probably covered with mats and/or swept regularly. The floors extended beneath the undercut of the S wall, and were cut by U.21163 towards the N of Sp.87.
Consistency: Soft / Friable
Colour: Brownish grey (finishing coat) / Orangish brown (make-up)
Texture: Silty clay
Bedding: Massive
Inclusions: None
Post-depositional Features: Bioturbation (animal burrowing), gypsum reprecipitation
Basal Boundary: Constructional / anthropogenic, sharp, distinct, iregular, 15-20º slope
