Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: scoop; Deposition: homogeneous

 

Discussion: Scoop F.7596 was recognized during the cleaning of floor F.2176 and the removal of the patches of remaining plaster u.21311 (after 8 years of erosion). It is one of the scoops surrounding the hearth F.1482. Scoop F.7596 is the deepest of them. Infill u.21374 is not as ashy and black than the others scoop infills. However it contains a lot of burnt animal bones and charcoal. 

 

Consistency: loose 

Colour: light brown - grey 

Texture: ashy-sandy 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: a lot of small charcoal (10%) 

Post-depositional Features:

Basal Boundary: sharp, bottom of the cut u.21375 into infill u.30539. The contrast is prominent in terms of color and texture. Surface rough.
