Unit 21683
Category: Cut dug in 2015
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: burial cut
Data Category Information: Description: burial
Discussion: Revealing rectangular burial cut (U.21683) oriented NS within partially truncated Eastern wall (F.7149) of B.132, caused the alternate in exploration of the sediments within the F.7860 located in the area, that remained by that time as crumble and uneven surface marked by cuts of the already excavated burials within NE platform of B.77. Distinct outline of the unit (21683) was probably one of the best recognized limits of the individual burial in the spot for many years since the excavation of the platform started. Mentioned circumstances resulted in direct affiliation of human remains (sk21681) to the restricted locale, and simultaneously in indication the infill (u21682) around the bones.
Owing to the fact that the cut was executed in the past partially within the room-fill (u21622) of B.132 and placed in lower elevation, the burial F.7860 was not disturbed by later multiple funeral activities. For that reason the position of the mentioned feature is striking and might be considered as one of the first inhumations within the NE area dedicated later for the platform structure and further funerals. Additionally, the presented circumstances along with the fact that the cut was not recognized before give some bases to assume that the burial had been performed during sealing process and accumulation of the room-fill all over B.132 or it was carried out in the constructional phase of the B.77.
