Unit 21836
Category: Layer dug in 2016
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: wall plaster
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: plaster; Deposition: layered (wall plaster); Basal Spit: unpainted
Discussion: 21836 refers to the wall plaster covering the northern wall (F565) of space 170.
The plaster is only preserved in the western side of the wall, where it is associated to a superposition of white layers that do not show any painting traces.
The plaster has not been excavated yet, therefore no sample has been taken.
The extreme NE of north wall of the building was collapsing at the beginning of 2017 season. To try to recover as much data as we can, we remove the remains of plaster visible in that part of the wall. The plaster was not very well preserved, and was only partially conserved, but anyway in the conserved parts we were able to see at least four clear different plastering phases. Each one of this phases was around 0.01 m thick, the plaster was white and the different make ups were orange. (03.05.2017 CB)
