Unit 21987
Category: Layer dug in 2015
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: plaster floor
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: raised area (platform); Material: white clay; Deposition: composite (floors/bedding/plaster/packing/occupation)
Discussion: The layer is a floor composed by a first level of white plaster (thickness 0.005 m) and a second level of light purple makeup (thickness 0.01 m), laid on the highest platform, in the north-eastern corner of the building. In the central part, the layer is markedly concave, while in the southern side it is modelling as a kind of raised rim. This 'raised rim' showes a curvilinear shape more or less in the center of the southern side: it is problably that in this part, the plaster and its makeup have been modelled following the curve of a preexisting architectural element, taken away in antiquity and indicated just by the particular shape of the floor and by a darker patch on the surface of the lateral reinforcement u21978.
