Discussion: The unit is composed of minimum 4 superposed layers situated in the middle of the northern part of the platform in the NW side of space 154. 3 layers are probably make-up and one a plasered floor.
The upper layer (1) is firm, dark-red/orangish, silty-clay, massive, with a low concentration of charcol and phitoliths inclusions (2%-flecks). Basal boundry is levelled, abrupt, distinct, flat, with a smooth surface. The layer is 0.4 cm thick and can probably be interpreted as the make-up/preparation of an upper floor (not conserved).
The underlying layer (2) is friable, grey, layered, with not visible inclusions. The basal boundary is levelled, abrupt, prominent, flat, with a smooth surface. The layer is 0.3 cm thick and was most likley a floor.
The underlying layer (3) is friable, dark-brown/black, silty, massive, with a higher (compared to layer 1) concentration of phitolits inclusions (10%-flecks). The basal boundary is constructional, abrupt, prominent, with an irregular surface, generally flat but also inclined towards its eastern side. It is only 0.1 cm thick and should be probably interpreted as an indication for a short activity probably connected with the preparation of the upper floor (walking over the underlying layer/short water event?).
The underlying layer (4) is firm, dark-red, silty-clay, massive, with some rare charcol inclusions (5%-flecks). Very similar to upper layer 1, it differentiates from it mostly because of a higher charcol concentration. The function of both layers is nontheless probably the same: make-up for the upper floor (2). Its thickness varys between 0.3-0.6 cm.
Layer (4) covers a superposition of other floors and make-up layers that have notyet benn removed.
Due to the high level of erosion in this part of the patform it is not been possible to specify any other direct stratigraphical relations between the 4 layers of U22188 and the surrounding ones.

Finds Room Information:

All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.

X Finds Material: nothing recorded
