Data Category Information: Location: feature; Deposition: homogeneous
Description: post retrieval pit infill
Discussion: Post retrieval pit fill with collapsed wall material, oven superstructure/base remains and dump material. This unit was recognized by colour and texture. The origin of the unit was infill of post retrieval pit which is related F.7813. This unit is represent abondanment process. Because especially, inside of the fill there was collapsed wall material, oven superstructure/base remains. We think that oven materials could be related with F.7816. The unit is located in the NW part of Sp.551. This deposit was deliberately accumulated possibly 2 episodes. First one has more collapsed collapsed wall material and oven superstructure/base remains, second one has more dump material. The orientation of deposit was unclear. Also İnside of this unit we found collapsed relief material which could be bull head. This Collapsed relief material is similar which Mellaart found in the Shrines early excavations.(Please check 1960's excavation Report) Collapsed relief material appear to be more concetrated toward to middle.
The priority results represent, this post retrieval pit infill contains animal bone which are sheep bone fragments(one is a vertebra the others long bone fragments) . And also in terms of Phytolith results, this unit material is look like midden deposit.
This unit was excavated by trowel.
