Unit 22349
Category: Layer dug in 2016
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: midden layer in western part of sp.538
Data Category Information: Location: in abandoned building; Deposition: coarsely bedded (dumps); Basal Spit: basal deposit
Description: basal deposit of midden layer
Discussion: This unit was recognised by texture as a separate unit. The origin of the unit was a midden. It was formed with dump material and charcoal flecks. This units composition has changed from previous unit which is U.22346. This unit is lighter that that previous one. Also this has less charcoal and less lime stone frag than that U.22346. The deposit contains more clayish material. This unit is located in western corner of sp.585. The orientation of layer is west to east. The deposit was truncated at north and west. Possibly this layer is abutted to eastern wall of B.17. The deposit was accumulated single episode.
In terms of results, the unit contains similar amount of oaks with previous units. Also this contains less fish remains. And some chaff, grains, weed seeds and fruitstones fragments.
