Description: room infill of sp.510 

 

Discussion: This unit was recognized by texture of deposit. The origin of the unit was a infill which is located in southern part of B.118. Also this unit is located above of the south wall of B.118 and between this wall and north wall of side room in sp.552. The units composition has changed from previous unit which is U.22352 as a midden layer. This unit consist of rubble and dump building materials. It has more dump mudbrick, plaster and possible mortar fragments. The rubble appear to more concentrated toward to eastern side of deposit. The deposits was accumulated 2 episodes. These are different types of episodes with rubble and dump infill material. The distribution of unit is east to west.
Beggining of the layer was consist of more mixed material with rubble and mixed dump deposit. And when we were digging this, it became as typical building clean infill. The unit may represent as a abandoned building infill.

This unit excavated by trowel and mattock. 

 

Consistency: firm to compact 

Colour: mid gray 

Texture: silty clay 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: organic remains, lime pieces and charcoal fragments 

Post-depositional Features: animal burrows, cracks and truncated by mellaart 

Basal Boundary: clear
