Unit 22367
Category: Layer dug in 2016
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: infill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: pit; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: Layer exposed in 2015 after remove the remains of the B43, and visible in the section exposed in the w side of the F8010. Loose and dark grey layer with quite charcoal intrusions, disturbed for at least two animal burrows. Clearly, as a consequence of this disturbance, we found oven remains (for the base or superstructure) and a clay ball mixed with the fill, probably coming from a possible oven in the Mellaart C.VIB.27 building, where was visible the continuity of this animal burrow.
After remove this disturbance, was possible to see a plaster line that probably was defining the edge of the post hole (around 0.30 m of diameter) and the primary infill (U22377).
This layer probably was created as a result of erosion, after the wood of the post disappears and discompose, and with the past of the time this space was naturally filled with the remains of the next and upper layers. This layer was defined in the south for the inter-wall rubble 22362, the north was completely eroded. This layer stopped quite abrupt, and we documented another layer below, probably the primary infill of the pit (U22377), with also a mineralize remains of wood (U22373).
Consistency: Loose
Colour: Dark grey
Texture: Mostly clay and silt with rest of ashes in the composition
Bedding: Massive, the bedding of the unit is flat
Inclusions: Mineralize wood, plaster, small natural stones, charcoal and salts.
Post-depositional Features: Animal borrow
Basal Boundary: Change to another deposit quit abrupt, visible mostly for the consitence and color between both deposits.

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
