Unit 22623
Category: Layer dug in 2015
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: burial fill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: This unit represents the fill placed over sk. 22620 and 22655 after this individual and additional bones were buried. It is very difficult to discern from the surrounding foundation deposit u. 22617, and is most likely related to the other burials in space 77. The fill contained several loose beads, and several pieces of jewelry including 2 bracelets, 2 anklets, and a copper ring. This unit contains some plaster from wall F. 7712 of B. 131 since that plaster ultimately slid into the fill upon interment.
Consistency: loose
Colour: black to dark grey
Texture: sandy silt loam
Bedding: massive, though contained rubble from wall F. 7712 which slid in during filling
Inclusions: burnt clay, plaster, ash
Post-depositional Features: exposure at surface since 2012
Basal Boundary: diffuse-- extremely difficult to discern cut
