Description: U23819 is the surviving, upper base of a hearth and its packing found in South space 634 in Building 167. 

Discussion: Only a patch Hearth Base 23819 survived in the Western side of Southern Building167. It was made of mud and lime plaster which had turned pink because of heating. Base 23819 was only 1cm thick and its packing, of brown soil was similarly thin.

Colour: Pink / light orange 

Texture: Sand 

Bedding: Fine parallel

Basal Boundary: Constructional, very sharp, distinct, smooth, flat and even
